The principals of M & C Saatchi’s
New York office wanted a space designed to reflect
their status as a high energy, cutting edge advertising
company. They chose a dynamic loft space with 11 skylights,
exposed ceilings and a roof with varying pitches.
The design for the space unfolds episodically, beginning
in the lobby and moving through open-plan offices
interspersed with informal sitting areas, a living
room with soft chairs, a cafe/bistro style pantry,
and conference rooms. All of the spaces are wired
for telecommunications and computers. Featuring wood
trusses, cast-iron columns and low walls of translucent
fiberglass to define the various spaces, the design
is at once timeless, polished and clean.
